My favorite nephew Zach really enjoys goulash. On a recent visit I made up a batch just for him. Yes, he shared with the rest of the family, he’s generous that way.
Zach’s Goulash
1 pound hamburger
1 can tomato soup
1 can vegetarian vegetable soup
1 white onion, diced
1 ½ c macaroni, cooked according to package directions
1t chile powder
1t salt
1/2t pepper
In a high sided saucepan over medium high heat, brown the hamburger. Drain any excess fat in the pan then add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well.
Pour into greased 9×13 pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour. Or you can cook in the crock pot on low 4-5 hours, be sure to stir this every hour.
Alternative: my family does not like things very spicy, if this is you, lower that chile powder to 3/4 teaspoon and you will be much happier.
